Early Decision and Early Action deadline is November 1, and I'm here to help.

Can you believe how quickly time flies? UM's Early Decision/Early Action deadline is coming up next week on November 1.

Is your application ready for our committee? All of your application materials should be postmarked by Nov 1 in order to be considered for Early Decision or Early Action.

If you have some last minute questions before you hit the "submit" button, just let me know and I'll answer your questions this week through my blog.

Or add UnivofMiamiAdm to your AIM buddy list because admission counselors will be online more often this week in order to field your questions.

I look forward to seeing your application on my desk very soon.

What day should my college counselor submit my school materials (Secondary School Report, Teacher Recs. etc.)?

Hi! I'm an international student living in the U.S., and I wish to apply for financial aid, should I submit any files such as the CSSS with my early action application?

In the email it states, "All of your application materials should be postmarked by Nov 1 in order to be considered for Early Decision or Early Action" Does this include test scores?

I have a question about applying for the honors program. I'm basically just confused about the different deadlines...what do they each mean? My parents are on my case about applying, and I just want to make sure I'm doing this all correctly.

Hi,

I wanted to know if the portfoilio required for the School of Architecture application was also due November 1. Does it have to be in your office by November 1, or can it be mailed within the week of November 1. Also about the portfolio, what exactly do you want to be featured in it? Thank you for answering my questions,
Melanie Neiman

I am an international student, I have finished my paper application (online application won't accept my parents' name somehow..). I know that universities require foreign students to fill out extra forms (such as I-20, visa, etc.), I haven't seen any of extra application forms for international students on line, so is it okay to just send the paper application without extra forms, and would that be considered as early action?

I'm considering doing early action, but do I have to send in my SAT scores by the deadline or can I send them at a later time since I am taking them on November 1st.

Thank You

I really want to finish a few more projects up for my architecture portfolio before i submit my application. Will applying regular decision instead of early action strongly affect my chances of getting accepted?

Hi,
Is it required that SAT and ACT scores "officially" be sent to UM through College Board/the ACT program? Or can the applicants just submit the scores?

I want to apply for early action but my grades are not that good. should I still apply?

Hi! I have a quick question. I took the ACTs on October 25th so the scores won't be available for a few weeks, but will they still be considered in my Early Action Application? I have them being sent directly to University of Miami! Thanks!

Hey! How do I know if the admissions office has received all the things that I've sent? --SAT scores, transcripts, and application...

Thank you :)

If I'm applying as an incoming freshman to the Department of Architecture, by when do I need to submit a portfolio (if I need one) if I'm doing early action?

how can we confirm that the university received everything?

Do you offer credit for IB exams?

I am interested in the School of Architecture, so I was wondering what the requirements are for the portfolio and also when the deadline is for it?

What if the actual application arrives on time but the conselor information that she has to send is not postmarked exactly on time. Does the entire application count as late. I am currently a foriegn exchange student in Chile, so I am not there to encourage the process.

Hi,
I just had a little concern about the application. Since I'm doing the EA application online but I still have to send my transcripts, resume, and teacher recommendations do they all have to be in by Nov. 1? Do you think that I should submit my application and send all of the other info that same day/or the day after? And also, for the counselor evaluation form, does my counselor fill it out and then I send it along with my other paperwork or can she send it herself?

Hi!
My name is Christina Sofia Carlson. I applied via the Common Application and would like to know if you have received my high school transcripts, letters of recommendations and SAT scores. I visited the University of Miami on August 1st. and fell in love with the campus, location, opportunities and people. Please let me know if all documents have been received.
Thank you!

Hello! I have a question concerning my ACT scores. I just took the ACT on the 25th of October and I know that the ACT submits the scores to the universities three weeks from now (past the Early Action deadline). If I have submitted my application and all the documents required (including my SAT scores) are on file, will my ACT scores be considered under Early Action?

Your response is greatly appreciated.

Hello, my name is William Baskerville and I am applying for the University of Miami under Early Action. My counselor is in the process of writing an application fee waiver request letter. She promised that the letter will be complete by this coming Tuesday. My questions are, what are the next steps? Should this letter be faxed, mailed, or e-mailed? Should I contact the admissions office to see if my fee waiver request was granted? I have completed my online application but I have not submitted it yet. If my fee waiver request is granted, when will I be able to submit my application? Thank you for your time.

What do we do if we can't have our FAFSA estimate in by November 1?

I want to apply Early Action to University of Miami, but my October 25th ACT score may not be reported in time . Can I apply at this time?

Dear UM blogger,

I'm applying to the Architecture Department for Fall 2009 and I know that the size requirements for the drawings have to be 8.5 inches x 11 inches. However, what exactly is the department looking for? Freehand drawings? Technical drawings done in school? What do you suggest?

Prospective Freshman.

Hi- I was wondering if UMiami mixes ACT scores. For example, if I took the test on two different dates, will you take the highest composite or the highest sections of each test and create a new composite? Thank You for your time, Caroline Mosley. caroline.mosley@yahoo.com
